We had a great Christmas here in the Wilk house.
After all the shopping, wrapping, cooking and excitement leading up to Christmas... we celebrated the birth of Our Lord.
This year Rose was far more involved than she was last year. Z and I had so much fun preparing for her Christmas morning, lighting the advent candles each night and opening a door each night on the Advent Calendar Home (ok, I stashed leftover Halloween candy in each cubby, I will admit it) we were given this as a gift earlier in the month by Grandma Wilk.
Christmas Eve we were all set up to read the Twas the Night Before Christmas and sit by the tree before bed. However, there were a slight change of plans... we got home late from Grammy and Papa Knoell's and were just pooped and went right to bed. We will start that tradition next year I guess.
Dad was once again so very sweet with his gifts to mom this year. I love each and every one.
Both Rose and I would agree on this.
I cant believe another Christmas has come and gone. I really do think from Halloween to New Years Day it is a whirlwind of festivities, eating, family and late nights. What an awesome time of year.... I love it!
There were plenty of things I was not able to get to in time for Christmas (will remain nameless) but I did all that I could. Each year is a learning process being at home and starting our own simple traditions. It has been so fun with Rose this year I must say. Slowly I hope she starts to create her first memories as she gets older and starts to have that great anticipation for the season of Christmas.
We love you Rose, and watching you and your eyes light up during this Christmas brought so much joy to your dad and I. Our Lord has given us so much and I want to always remember how lucky and thankful we need to be each and every day.
Speaking of gifts and things to be thankful for.
Baby #2 is kicking along and is approaching a single digit countdown (in weeks that is) until baby arrives. We are 30 weeks today. Go baby go!
Until next time..... I hope you all had a blessed Merry Christmas and I hope you all are preparing for the New Year that is quickly approaching in a couple days!!!
Get ready 2013!!!!
