In The Home

In and around the home this week...

Happy Friday!

This week I have been "fall cleaning" Phoenix edition. For Phoenicians, like myself, this time of year I prepare the house for cooler nights, cooler days, open windows and more play time outside. I can always sense the season changing (even though our high today is 104). The nights are becoming so beautiful, and that is the first sign that fall is here.

My pictures above are random shots I took this week of the house. Something to blog about I suppose. That is Rose's art work on the fridge that she did back in April of this year. Colorful and simple. I love it so much. I hope to frame and hang it in her room as her first official (of many) work of arts. I am looking for ideas on how to frame it (shadow box maybe?). Moving on, a bowl of green apples, yum! Lastly, my vase of flowers. I love fresh flowers in the house, If Z didn't put up a stink that I bought something "that just dies in a week" then I would buy them every week... but maybe I will start (smirk).

Subject change, least expensive place is to grocery shop. Super Target or Trader Joe's? It has been driving me nuts. I shop at our neighborhood Super Target, one stop shopping. I rather do Trader Joe's (15-20 min drive), simple and healthy choices minus all the countless isles tempting you to get this and get that. I know I would walk out of TJ spending less on food. But as a mom, being able to make one stop for all your needs is huge (for me at least). My thought? Shop at TJ for two weeks, with our usual list of items and compare spending. After all the appropriate math (which I am horrible at) we will compare. I never look forward to grocery shopping, I get sidetracked and walk around the store in a fog but somehow I manage to get all the items on my list and then some (a necklace on clearance, a new shade of nail polish... oh geesh haha).

The girls: Pretty slow and quiet week. We had a break and the girls enjoyed time at Grammy and Papa Wilk's while Z and I enjoyed a date night. Rose responds to any question with "what?", tells me "I love you, mommy" and loves her sticker books "play stickers with me, play!". Alison laughs, naps, eats and loves watching her big sister play. Rose can make Alison laugh at the drop of a hat.

Happy Weekend!
