Ready for another? Yes! Baby #2!

Our second child is on the way! Expected to be here around March 8th, 2013!

Prayers in thanksgiving for our new life. We pray that our little baby remains healthy and strong as we enter these coming months. We are so excited to welcome and meet our second pride and joy.

Though it was my hope I was still in shock when I received a positive pregnancy test that Sunday morning before mass on July 1st. I didn't even have enough time to place the test down, it had turned positive before my eyes. A whole hour went by before I broke the wonderful news to Zac.

I had Rose give Zac an envelope with a card inside that read:

Dear Dad, I am going to be a big sister! I am soooo excited! Love, Rose.

Zac immediately looked up from the card and looked at me with a huge smile and asked "really?!". I responded with a happy tearful "yes". This was followed by a long hug. I caught it on tape - priceless.

As a daughter and sister, that same day I was asked by my sister and my mom (on separate occasions) if I had any good news. Naturally, I shared that a baby was indeed on the way!

This means I was expecting while in San Diego. However, it was our little secret until the end of July. We told Zac's side two days before leaving for Toledo (I could hold a secret for one trip but not two).

We went over to Zac's parents house for dinner and Rose wore a pink t-shirt I made her that said

BIG SISTER. The reaction took a few minutes and Zac's mom even read the shirt aloud "look BIG SISTER how cute". But she didn't understand that it was supposed to be a message. Zac told his mom "its a message, read it again". This was followed by excitement, joy and hugs. Zac's mom later said that she thought perhaps Rose was wearing a hand me down and didn't want to assume that it was saying what it was saying. We all laughed! Zac's dad, mom and sister Abbey were there for the announcement, we then text messaged a picture of Rose in her shirt and sent it to Zac's older sister Nikki. The Wilk family is very excited to welcome another grandchild.

The following night we told my side! Rose wore the same shirt and she wandered around the house for quite some time before one by one I would hear "what the!!! really?!!!!". Finally the whole room was laughing and congratulating us on our new addition to our little family. Each reaction to the shirt...fast and slow was HILARIOUS.

So, yes the news is out and Zac and I are thrilled to finally share this with the world.
