We've Got a Walker....

On February 29th (Happy Leap Day!) Rose took her official real steps. She has been flirting with steps here and there, but today didn't compare to her previous attempts. Rose WALKED, turned then walked some more. I had the video camera in my hand capturing it all, however, behind the video camera I was crying between the congratulatory "yays" and "wows". Why does this make me so sad? I have been emotional lately, and it has everything to do with Rose. She has transformed from our little baby to a beautiful little girl overnight, a beautiful little person. Having a child changes everything you thought you cared about and loved, into falling in love with a little person, our little daughter. Yes, most nights after she has gone to bed I already look forward to Zac bringing her to me before he leaves for work in the morning. What can I say.

I haven't been able to capture a picture of her walking, unfortunately Rose is a little camera shy, she freezes and laughs nervously until she crumples to the floor. I will work on that.

Rose, you have 8 fabulous teeth, you break out in dance whenever you hear music, you clap at the drop of a hat, you are very fond of your pink Teddy Bear that you squeeze with hugs whenever he is in your arms, you only eat Ego waffles, PB&H and String Cheese, you have the cutest little strands of blond hair and you are overcome with happiness when you see your dad walk in the door from work. We are so lucky to have you, we are so blessed to have your love and more importantly to be able to love you back.

At the end of the rosary last night your dad added to our closing prayers (after hearing that you made leaps and bounds with your walking) "Rose, may her stumbles be light". This tugged strongly at my heart.

Love, mom & dad
